A peaceful farewell.
Our final loving gift.
In-Home Euthanasia
Saying goodbye to a beloved family member is one of the most difficult decisions a pet owner will make. The word “euthanasia” literally means “good death.” It is a release from the suffering that many animals endure at the end of their natural lives. Humane euthanasia is a gift we can give to our faithful companions at the completion of a well-lived life.
-
In-home euthanasia appointments typically last between 30-60 minutes. The end-of-life setting can be very private and simple if you wish. Or it can involve friends and family, other pets, sharing photos, and telling favorite stories. Some people choose to be in the room every step of the way. Others prefer to step out. Rest assured that we go through the same steps, and will treat your pet with love and respect, whether you are in the room or not. There is no right or wrong way to say goodbye to your pet.
-
The euthanasia process starts with an injection of sedative that most pets accept with minimal discomfort. Once your pet is peacefully resting, the next step is IV placement and final injection of medication to stop their heart. Your veterinarian will explain each step and proceed at the pace that feels right for you.

Aftercare Options
Traditional aftercare options include: Private cremation, Communal cremation, and Home burial. Cremation services are offered through Final Gift Pet Memorial Center and include transportation. If you select private cremation, you will be called when your pet’s ashes are available for pick up. You may also choose to keep your pet’s body for home burial. Please refer to local municipal codes regarding burial of animal remains. See pricing below.
We are now offering Aquamation in partnership with Nature’s Pawprint Aquamation. Aquamation is a loving and eco-friendly way to honor your pet’s memory. The process, also known as water cremation, uses a gentle flow of warm water and alkalinity to accelerate the natural decomposition process, returning your pet to nature in an earth-friendly way. Unlike traditional cremation which relies on intense heat and fire, aquamation is a serene and respectful process that reduces carbon emissions and energy use by up to 90% compared to flame cremation. It’s a compassionate choice for those who wish to reflect their love for their pet and the planet. If you would like to learn more about this process, please visit Nature’s Pawprint Aquamation’s website.
